Georgia United Credit Union teams up with the University of Georgia athletics as the official credit union

Enhanced five year sponsorship reinforces commitment to education

Georgia United Credit Union announced an expanded partnership as the Official Credit Union of Georgia Athletics. This comprehensive five-year commitment enhances the existing sponsorship of the Georgia Athletics Department that began in 2015 and reinforces Georgia United’s commitment to the UGA Athletic Association (UGAAA). The athletic sponsorship was facilitated through Georgia Bulldog Sports Properties, and will strengthen Georgia United’s presence on campus and sporting events, including endorsements from Head Coach Kirby Smart.

“We are excited for the opportunity to grow our relationship with the University of Georgia by increasing our presence in athletics and providing financial education and opportunities, “states Debbie Smith, Georgia United President and CEO. “The UGAAA shares many of our values and we are proud to contribute on-going support to the Oconee and Clarke County communities”.

Georgia United has been a longstanding supporter of UGA over the past 50 years. The credit union has built a reputation for outstanding service and community outreach through various programs for the university including FSLA Loan and VITA Tax Assistance programs.

“We are excited to extend and enhance our relationship with Georgia United,” states Greg McGarity, Athletic Director at the University of Georgia. “We thank Georgia United for its commitment to Georgia Athletics and appreciate their support in our effort to create exceptional experiences for our supporters and student athletes”.

The renewed partnership also includes in-venue signage and video features during home football, basketball, baseball and softball games, as well as gymnastics meets. Additional promotional opportunities include radio commercials, in-game features and gymnastics entitlement meets throughout each year.
