Golden 1 Credit Union Community Grant Program open for applications

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 31, 2019) — Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) today announced the opening of the application period for its Community Grant Program. The program is part of Golden 1’s commitment to caring for the communities it serves. Selected nonprofits will receive up to $50,000 for literacy and foster youth programs operating from July 2019 to June 2020.

Since its inception in 2014, the Golden 1 Community Grant Program has funded 56 nonprofits in the Sacramento and Fresno regions, providing more than $2.6 million to support youth literacy and transition-age foster youth. Past recipients have utilized funds for mentoring programs, youth job development, and creative writing workshops.

“Golden 1 Credit Union is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the communities we serve,” said Erica Taylor, Vice President of Communications and Community Relations. “Through the Golden 1 Community Grant Program, we have the chance to uplift organizations that help meet critical needs of children and young adults in the Sacramento and Central Valley.”

Grant applications and guidelines are available at www.golden1.com/communitygrants.

The application period for proposals will end on March 10, 2019. Golden 1 will notify all applicants about the final results in June 2019.
