Grow Financial celebrates International Credit Union Day credit union team members volunteer at local non-profits

TAMPA, FL, (October 9, 2014) – Grow Financial recently announced they will be celebrating International Credit Union Day this year by focusing their volunteer efforts at two local non-profit organizations including Metropolitan Ministries and Feeding America.

International Credit Union (ICU) Day® has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948. The day is recognized to reflect upon the credit union movement’s history and also promote achievements. On this day, people are honored who have dedicated their lives to the movement, those working in the credit union industry are recognized and many credit unions show appreciation for their members.

This year’s ICU Day will take place on Thursday, October 16 and this year’s theme is “Local Service. Global Good.,” which emphasizes credit unions’ positive impact in their communities and around the world.

In support of ICU Day, Grow Financial Federal Credit Union has two different volunteer groups spending their time at Metropolitan Ministries and Feeding America, both located in Tampa, FL.  Some team members will be working the kitchen at Metropolitan Ministries doing such things as prepping meals, washing dishes and serving the local community while others stationed at Feeding America will spend time in the warehouse stocking shelves with food.
