Grow Financial Federal Credit Union reaches milestone in assets
Credit Union’s Assets Exceed $2 Billion
TAMPA, FL, (June 17, 2014) — Grow Financial, one of the leading Credit Unions in the nation announced today that its assets now exceed $2 billion. The Credit Union achieved this milestone due to its steady growth of more than 8.5% since 2012.
The foundation for this growth began in 1955 when the military personnel and civilian employees of MacDill Air Force decided to pool their resources to open MacDill Air Force Base Federal Credit Union. A broom closet in a base office building was cleared out to make room for the Credit Union’s very first location, which was open only during lunch hours.
Grow Financial Credit Union now serves more than 171,000 members and opened its 22nd location in Columbia, South Carolina last November. Grow Financial continues to expand as the Credit Union prepares to open five more stores in 2014.
“As we have continued to grow, we have been able to extend new services to our members through mobile, online and additional channels”, said Bob Fisher, President and CEO. “Going forward, we will continue to find more ways to bring the benefits of our Credit Union membership to more people”, Fisher said.

Two years ago, the Credit Union moved away from a typical teller position to an open staffing concept at all of their stores.
