Gulf Trust CU joins the CU*SOUTH CUSO
FAIRHOPE, AL (August 6, 2018) — Gulf Trust CU has joined the CU*SOUTH CUSO network for CU*BASE® core data processing. Gulf Trust serves over 4100 members in Pascagoula, MS – located on the scenic Gulf Coast.
The CU had a problem with the limitations of their old core provider. “After reviewing four core processors, it was quite apparent to us within the first couple hours of the demo of CU*SOUTH that they were the right fit for us,” said Betty Hutchinson, CEO of Gulf Trust FCU. “The user-friendly program, the training, the enhanced security, the reduction of time spent on gathering data for reporting, and the ability to move into paperless documentation were big motivators for us. CU*SOUTH provided more than enough documentation and references for us to perform our due diligence.”
“Then we discovered that CU*SOUTH was a CUSO! That meant they really understood why and how credit unions operated. It was pretty much a slam dunk! We, the members and staff, are all excited about the good things coming our way with CU*SOUTH.”
CU*SOUTH has integrated every element of the credit union operation into a single cloud-based platform, so there are no worries about interfacing Product A with Product B; the data flows through a single system from home banking to loan origination and back office. To ensure that all credit unions, large and small, get the maximum benefit from the solution, CU*SOUTH built a network of support services, including call center, back office and compliance, so credit unions can leverage the CUSO’s experience as well as the software tools.
“Members come first in any core processing decision,” said Leo Vaulin, CEO of CU*SOUTH. “First, CU*SOUTH delivers the best online banking solution, which empowers members to do everything online—we have credit unions that operate with no physical branches—so the member self-service experience needs to be intuitive and fast, like Amazon or Google. Because we’re owned by credit unions, and not by banking software conglomerates, our pricing for both software and services was designed to be affordable for all credit unions, large and small. Making sure the members’ money stays in the credit union and in the community is the best way for a credit union to show its members that their interests come first.”
CU*SOUTH is a credit union-owned cooperative focused on building a network of successful credit unions. CU*SOUTH offers a wide variety of services including the Tier-1 CU*BASE® processing system offered in both online (ASP) and in-house processing environments, as well as a fully integrated online and mobile banking solution. CU*SOUTH also provides a variety of managed services through its CUSO@Work division, as well as through collaborative partnerships with other CUSOs in the rapidly-growing cuasterisk.com network—CU*Answers, CU*NorthWest, eDOC Innovations, Xtend, and Site-Four. Managed services allow credit unions to outsource tasks at a fraction of the cost of a full-time specialist—accounting, collections, compliance, lending, marketing, call center, web design. As a partner of the cuasterisk.com network, CU*SOUTH provides a comprehensive offering of information technology tools and services through a collaborative, shared ownership model, with the same great value credit unions offer members.
