As CFOO, Brumskine will provide executive leadership to the financial and administrative functions of the Foundation, which will include directing all aspects of the Foundation’s day-to-day financial operations, managing the organization’s fiscal functions, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting and insuring its compliance with all regulatory requirements. He will also be responsible for directing the Foundation’s investment strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, he will be working closely with the Director of Development and Donor Relations and other members of the senior management team and Board of Directors on the overall strategy of the Foundation.

“I’m greatly looking forward to working with Hannibal,” said Gigi Hyland, Foundation Executive Director. “His unique skill set and experience with a wide variety of nonprofits will complement our work to improve people’s financial lives through credit unions nicely.”

Brumskine has an extensive background in accounting and financial management with a broad range of knowledge in managing finance teams and nonprofits.  Before coming to the Foundation, he served as the Controller/Director of Global Treasury at Pact in Washington, D.C., an international development non-governmental organization, where he was responsible for the general accounting, global treasury, external financial reporting, managing the annual financial audit, and staff development.

In addition to his work at Pact, Brumskine has served at executive levels with various nonprofits in the philanthropic space, including Greater Washington Area Public Television (WETA and News Hour Productions LLC) as Corporate Controller, Goodwill of Greater Washington as the Senior Director of Finance and Compliance, and Special Olympics, Inc. as the Vice President of Finance.  He is a Virginia licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and also received an Executive Leadership Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University.
