HC3’s project management team earns dual Scrum certification

Team becomes first in State of Alabama to attend the LSM/LSPO Certification Course, receiving both the Professional Scrum MasterTM and Professional Scrum Product OwnerTM certifications

BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 6, 2020) — HC3, formerly High Cotton, a data-driven tech company delivering customer communication, in partnership with Innovate Birmingham, a company creating a sustainable pipeline of local technology talent, certified its project management team – six employees in total – with both the Scrum Professional Scrum MasterTM and Professional Scrum Product OwnerTM certifications, becoming the first in the State of Alabama to attend the dual LSM/LSPO Certification Course.

Scrum is a global certification organization dedicated to improving the profession of software delivery by reducing communication and production gaps, making work and work products more dependable. The Professional Scrum MastersTM certification denotes the participants knowledge and understanding of Scrum and their ability to apply it in real-world situations. The Professional Scrum Product OwnersTM certification builds on the Professional Scrum MastersTM certification through including a focus on the product owner role and the participants ability to apply these skills following the course. HC3’s product team participated in both assessments, and were required to
pass each assessment with a test score of 85 percent or better to receive the professional certifications.

“With the Professional Scrum MasterTM and Professional Scrum Product OwnerTM certifications, our project management team is better able to deliver complex strategy and guide project implementations, keeping the goals and concerns of all parties top-of-mind,” said Griffin McGahey, president of HC3. “We appreciate our partner, Innovate Birmingham, for making this opportunity available to us.” HC3 is an employer partner of Innovate Birmingham.
