Heritage Trust hosts NBA executive at annual employee event
CHARLESTON, SC (March 11, 2015) — Each year Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union hosts an in-service day for employees for development and recognition. This year, employees were able to hear about the value of teamwork from Orlando Magic Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, Pat Williams.
“Our internal brand of T.R.U.S.T. stands for Team, Respect, Unity, Service and Technology,” said Jim McDaniel, CEO of Heritage Trust. “When planning this year’s event, we wanted to place a special emphasis on the importance of teamwork within our organization.”
Williams, who flew into Charleston from an exciting weekend at the 2015 NBA All-Star games in New York, engaged attendees with anecdotes about the importance of taking an active role in being a positive team member and ownership of the success and improvement areas of one’s organization. Employees were able to walk away from the speech with an autographed book of Williams’ latest book.
Following Williams’ engaging speech, teamwork continued on with the introduction of the credit union’s new internal wellness program from RivalHealth. RivalHealth is a North Carolina company focused on engaging employees and making them the best team members possible by focusing on the importance of healthy lifestyles.
Finally, attendees were able to cheer on their fellow colleagues during the credit union’s recognition ceremony. Award recipients are nominated and chosen by a combination of peer nominations and committee decisions. The host of awards range from longevity to community outreach to service excellence. All employees had the opportunity to win prizes from local vendors and one employee won a weekend stay in Orlando, Florida.
“We could not have hoped for a better event this year,” said McDaniel. “Employees were thrilled to have Pat visiting us and we all learned how to continue supporting one another as a team and the importance of working together to provide our members with the best quality of service.”
