Hiway Credit Union receives three Marketing Association of Credit Union awards

ST. PAUL, MN (July 6, 2021) — Hiway Credit Union® received three awards as part of the Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) annual MAC Awards.

Hiway received their awards in the largest assets class ($1B+ class) in the categories of Overall Brand Refresh, Logo and Newsletter. 

In the Overall Brand Refresh category, Hiway received the Gold (equivalent to Category’s Best) award. Hiway launched its new brand following their late 2020 charter change. With the migration from a federal charter to a state charter, the credit union took the opportunity to refresh its brand, brightening up their color palette and modernize its look and messaging.

In the Logo category, Hiway also received the Gold (equivalent to Category’s Best) award. Hiway’s new logo has a modern and friendly depiction. The icon next to the Hiway name pays homage to the credit union’s history as the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) credit union, and, depending on just how you look at it, can be seen as either lane stripes on a highway or an “H.” No matter which you see first when you look, the icon underscores Hiway’s mission to positively impact the member, on their “road of life.”

In the Newsletter Redesign category, Hiway received the Silver award. Hiway’s member newsletter, Interchange, also underwent a refresh and redesign following the Credit Union’s charter change.

 “Our team poured their heart and soul into our new branding, and it’s so rewarding to see it recognized by our industry peers,” said Tara Graff, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at Hiway. “The MAC Awards have gotten very competitive, with lots of excellent work represented, and we’re honored to have taken home a trio.”

The MAC awards have been presented since 1986 at the annual MAC Conference but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this year the awards were presented during a virtual awards program.
