“However, you vibe…you are loved” – Vibe Credit Union celebrates Pride Month with exciting sponsorships and ongoing LGBTQ+ support

NOVI, MI (June 6, 2023) — Vibe Credit Union, in its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, is thrilled to announce its unwavering support for Pride Month throughout June. With a fun and festive approach, the credit union aims to honor the LGBTQ+ community, create unforgettable memories and foster a truly inclusive experience for everyone involved.

Kicking off the month with great enthusiasm, Vibe Credit Union supported the Ferndale Pride Festival on June 3rd by sponsoring pet photos in collaboration with the Animal Welfare Society. Vibe also welcomed the public with celebratory pins in front of their Ferndale branch. This exciting event, known for its lively atmosphere and inclusive spirit, unites diverse communities to celebrate LGBTQ+ identity and acceptance.

Julia Music, Event Director of Ferndale Pride, said, “The best part about my job is seeing the joy on so many people’s faces as they celebrate pride. It’s incredible to see people being able to be out in such massive numbers. It’s inspirational and important. Ferndale Pride is the largest yearly fundraising event of the Ferndale Community Foundation. So far, the event has helped the foundation distribute over $330,000 to local non-profit organizations.”

Continuing its commitment to making a positive impact, Vibe Credit Union is delighted to sponsor other Pride month activities, including Prom ReDeux, hosted by Affirmations in Ferndale, and Palmer Park 5k Run & Walk, organized by Welcome Home Yoga in the Palmer Park area of Detroit. Affirmations provides crucial support and resources for LGBTQ+ individuals, fostering a safe and empowering environment. Welcome Home Yoga supports local non-profits dedicated to uplifting the community.

In addition to these exciting sponsorships, Vibe Credit Union’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee works tirelessly to promote LGBTQ+ awareness throughout the year. Through its monthly newsletters, the committee offers valuable insights, ideas, and resources about diverse cultures, ethnicity, and health, aiming to create an inclusive workplace culture supporting all Vibe employees’ growth and development. Vibe firmly believes that fostering an inclusive culture in the workplace starts with personal commitment and small actions that collectively make a significant difference.
