Illinois Credit Union League Service Corporation announces new COO

NAPERVILLE, IL (February 22, 2018) — The Illinois Credit Union League Service Corporation (LSC) is excited to announce that David Griffiths, formerly Senior Vice President of Business and Sales for LSC, has been appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President effective January 1, 2018.

As COO and EVP, David is responsible for the growth and retention of LSC’s business, as well as overseeing its future business strategy. David has over 30 years of experience working in the credit union movement in various sales and leadership positions.

“I love collaboration,” said David. “I look forward to helping LSC continue to grow, not only from a fiscal perspective, but in ways that will allow us to provide even greater benefits to our current and future clients, as well as to our employees. I’d also like to give Karen Duffy the credit she so well deserves for her selfless dedication to this organization. I’ve known very few leaders of her caliber, and LSC is grateful that she will continue to support our mission to help credit unions succeed in her new role.”

LSC’s former Chief Operating Officer, Karen Duffy, is transitioning to the role of Vice President of Card Solutions and leader of LSC’s partner management team. Karen has been with the Illinois Credit Union System since 1983. In her 35 years of service, Karen has worn many hats, including Director of Card Services, Vice President of Lending and Collections, Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development, and Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer.

“Working in the constantly changing financial services environment, it is important to be able to adapt,” said Karen, “but for me, it’s about relationships. I am a better person for all the wonderful people I have worked with and met throughout my career in the credit union industry, and I look forward to continuing to work with our partners in order to deliver unparalleled service to our clients.”

Karen was instrumental in the national launch of LSC’s Prepaid Card Program, and with her guidance, LSC has grown into a national brand with 44 State League Partners representing over 2300 credit union clients.
