Indiana Credit Unions Honored for Community Service, Financial Literacy and Philosophy in Action

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Credit Union League has honored credit unions for their achievement in the areas of community service, credit union philosophy in action and excellence in youth and adult financial literacy.  All of these awards are named for credit union pioneers in each of the areas. Those credit union entries receiving first place honors in their asset size category at the state level were forwarded on to national competition. The following credit unions received awards:

Dora Maxwell Awards

The Dora Maxwell Award recognizes outstanding efforts of social responsibility and community service

$20-50 million
First Place: CrossRoads Financial FCU, Portland

$50-100 million
First Place: Fire Police City County FCU, Fort Wayne

$200-500 million
First Place: Heritage FCU, Newburgh
Second Place: Finance Center FCU, Indianapolis

$500 million – $1 billion
First Place: Purdue FCU, West Lafayette

More than $1 billion
First Place: Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis

Louise Herring Awards

The Louise Herring Award recognizes credit union philosophy in action

$250 million – $1 billion
First Place: Finance Center FCU, Indianapolis

Alphonse Desjardins Awards – Adult Financial Literacy Division

The Alphonse Desjardins Award recognizes excellence in financial literacy efforts
