Indiana Members Credit Union announces promotions

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (July 7, 2014) — Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), Central Indiana’s largest credit union, is happy to announce several promotions, further strengthening its management team.

IMCU is pleased to announce that John Newett has been promoted to senior vice president of operations.  Newett has been with IMCU since 2011.  His past professional work experience includes working for the National Credit Union Administration from 1995 to 2000 as a Principal Examiner and serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Harvester Financial Credit Union from 2000 to 2011.  Newett is a member of the Indiana CPA Society, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Credit Union Executive Society.  He currently holds volunteer positions with the Indiana Credit Union League, St. Francis Soccer Club, and Nativity Catholic Church.  Newett is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Business at Indiana University at Indianapolis with a concentration in accounting and a minor in economics and has been a licensed CPA since January of 2000.

Indiana Members Credit Union has promoted Mandy Emery to vice president of community involvement.  Emery has been with Indiana Members Credit Union for 32 years.  During that time she worked in the training department, branch operations and also served as a branch manager.  In 2010 Emery was promoted to assistant vice president of community relations.  In her new role, she will continue to oversee and serve as the executive director of Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union, while developing new fundraising and community service initiatives.  Emery serves on the Bridges to Success Community Partners Board at IPS School #44, Indy BackPack Attack and Central Indiana Corporate Volunteer Council.

Michael Murphy has been promoted to vice president of business services.  Murphy has worked in the financial industry for 28 years.  He has been director of business lending for Indiana Members Credit Union since 2006.  Prior to working at IMCU, Murphy served as an assistant manager and vice president of commercial lending at Peoples Bank as well as vice president of trust and private banking and worked in the middle market lending division of Union Federal Bank.  He served three years on the board for Visiting Nurses Service and also supports the Big Brothers foundation.

IMCU announces that Scott Mann has been promoted to assistant vice president of retail operations.  Mann has been with Indiana Members Credit Union for 26 years.  He began working part time at IMCU while attending college and upon graduation from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in management was hired on full time in the phone center.  Mann moved to branch operations serving as a teller, loan officer and branch manager until his promotion to manager of member services in 2013.

Chantelle Sparks has been promoted to assistant vice president of human resources.  Sparks began her career at IMCU in 1993 as a seasonal teller.  Upon graduation from Ball State University with a degree in Education, she was hired on at IMCU as a part-time pool teller moving to full time in 1997.  Sparks moved to member services in 1997 and then to the employee development department in 1998.  She was promoted to employee training and development manager in 2007 and in 2011 become manager of human resources.

IMCU also announces that Justin Sinders has been promoted to assistant vice president of finance.  Sinders has been with IMCU since 2012 working in the finance department.  He began his career with the accounting and auditing firm of BKD, LLP in Indianapolis, being promoted to accounting supervisor, working with several financial institutions around the country.  Sinders is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, with degrees in accounting and finance.  Sinders served 8 years in the Indiana Army National Guard earning the rank of Lieutenant.

Indiana Members Credit Union announces that Terry Renick will serve as vice president of retail operations.  Renick has been with IMCU for 26 years.  He served as branch manager of IMCU’s St. Vincent and Greenwood branches until being promoted to assistant vice president and then vice president of branch operations.

IMCU also announces that Joel Tiede will serve as vice president of operations.  Tiede has been with IMCU for 27 years and began as branch manager of the Boulder, Colorado Branch.  He was later promoted to assistant vice president and then vice president of branch operations.
