Scottsdale, Ariz. (August 2, 2012) – Through a new partnership with CU Realty Services, Indiana Members Credit Union is growing its purchase mortgage volume and adding new benefits for members.

Expanding beyond basic mortgage options, Indianapolis-based Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) has signed on to offer CU Realty’s comprehensive real estate services program. The program includes a range of web-based tools to help consumers find homes, research neighborhoods, calculate costs and connect to experienced real estate agents. It is designed to position a credit union as the first point of contact in the homebuying and selling process, resulting in increased purchase mortgage volume. As an added bonus to members, CU Realty’s network of approved agents offer discounts on broker/agent commissions, resulting in lower closing costs when buying or selling a home.

“The secret is getting involved very early in the process, before buyers and sellers connect with another agent or online provider. Our program helps credit unions do that,” said Mike Corn, CEO of CU Realty Services. “Participants report significant increases in their purchase mortgage business – some by as much as 40 percent!”

The CUSO currently works with more than 100 credit unions and thousands of their members.

“In line with our strategy of ‘Keeping It Simple’ for members, we explored ways to streamline the mortgage experience,” said Jennifer Newby, Director of Business Development at the $1.4 billion IMCU. “CU Realty is the perfect fit, as it provides members a single place to get all their questions addressed.”

The Credit Union conducted training sessions with mortgage-lending managers and frontline personnel to prepare for the program’s launch this summer. And right away, members started using the service and the feedback has been very positive.

“CU Realty’s program allows us to provide our members with additional tools to help them when buying or selling a home,” said Newby. “The reduced real estate agent’s commission is an additional incentive for members to use one of our approved agents.”
