Joint credit union conference aims to place new focus on the community

MADISON, WI (May 14, 2015) – Credit Union National Association, in collaboration with The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (Federation), invites credit unions to join together in Phoenix to explore community topics with a credit union focus. Details and registration for CUNA Community Credit Union Conference and The Federation 2015 Annual Conference, taking place September 22-25, 2015, are available at ccuc.cuna.org and cdcu.coop/about-us/2015-annual-conference/.

“We are honored to be joining forces with the Federation this year to deliver first-in-class content and valuable insights to credit unions,” said James Carrick, CUNA learning events vice president.  “As the credit union movement continues to expand – along with the communities it serves, the resources provided by both The Federation and CUNA will help attendees develop growth-strategies to move their credit unions forward.”

“The Federation is pleased to be partnering with CUNA to develop a joint national conference celebrating and promoting the role of credit unions in building local communities and economies. Our conference will bring together leading policy makers and practitioners in our industry to forge a path for robust and inclusive financial services delivered through credit unions. Together we will feature best practices in product innovations, policy and service delivery and share how credit unions can best impact their communities,” says Pablo DeFilippi, vice president of membership and business development at the Federation.

The combined conference will leverage CUNA’s nationwide scope and strategy with the Federation’s expertise in meeting the financial needs of low- and middle-income consumers to give attendees the tools to reach out to their local communities and foster growth. During keynote and breakout sessions, industry experts will introduce new approaches to communicating the benefits of credit unions while exploring the best practices for attracting new credit union members.

Plus, this four-day event will give attendees the chance to form lasting peer connections and meet with knowledgeable industry vendors.
