Kohlrus Named the 2012 CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec
Manalapan, Fla. – Ashley Kohlrus, Chief Experience Officer with $965M Allegacy Federal Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C., USA was named the 2012 CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec this morning in Florida.
Kohlrus’ credit union project about “Mapping the Member Experience” was chosen from a group of five international applicants that had been selected as Finalists by a team of judges in September. As one of five finalists, Kohlrus’ blog and video updates over the past few months provided the industry with an insight into the project’s progress, and culminated with a final presentation Monday at CUES’ CEO/Executive Team Network ( http://www.cues.org/professional-development/conferences-and-networking/cnet ). Kohlrus emerged the winner after a four-part scoring process that included a panel of judges, a measurement of their social media engagement, plus audience and online voting.
Kohlrus is new to her role as Chief Experience Officer and works to ensure that the credit union experience for employees and members remains a top priority. After reviewing all of her organization’s delivery channels, she identified what impressions the credit union is creating along the way and where those impressions can be enhanced. In her presentation, Kohlrus provided suggestions for how credit unions of any size could implement similar programs of their own.
“I’m so appreciative of every one of you. You have inspired us because we look to you as our leaders,” said Kohlrus. “Thank you to DDJ Myers, to CUES, to Currency. One of my core values is lifetime learning and this will help me continue that. The baby and I are very appreciative.”

The other four Finalists are Jill Huls of $4.9B Conexus Credit Union in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.; Nate Muniz of $3.9B Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union in Harrisburg, Pa., USA; Cas Scott of $4B Community CPS Australia in Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia; and Peter Walker of $770M OSU Federal Credit Union in Corvallis, Ore., USA.
