LSCU & Affiliates unveil new, improved website that offers users a more engaging experience

The new website is mobile optimized for smartphones and tablets; LEVERAGE website helps credit unions “fill a need”

BIRMINGHAM, AL/TALLAHASSEE, FL (May 21, 2015) — The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU) unveiled a new, redesigned website today. The website has a modern design which includes mobile optimization so the entire space of the user’s monitor, smartphone, or tablet screen is utilized. Visitors to www.lscu.coop and www.myleverage.com will get a more engaging user experience that provides easy to navigate functionality through the use of “accordion” icons on pages so the user can read the most pertinent information by clicking the accordion and having it open with more content. The website also include original multimedia videos throughout.

The new LSCU website will engage the users in its core areas: Governmental Affairs, Education, Cooperative Initiatives, and Communications. New to the website will be a communication’s blog with current news, some longer form stories, and stories posted from credit unions, lawmakers, and regulators. Social media will have a greater presence on the new website with a Twitter feed on the homepage, as well as quick links to the League’s various social media channels.

“Today’s web user is looking at your website on a number of different devices throughout the day,” said LSCU President/CEO Patrick La Pine. “Your website has to reflect the user’s needs. This newly redesigned website has a heavy emphasis on latest news, resources available, and the ability to share through social channels. Plus, it makes it much easier to engage with the LSCU on advocacy efforts.”

The LEVERAGE website has been redesigned to help credit unions “fill a need” through a search for a “need.” Credit unions are more likely to look for a product that fills a need much more than looking for a specific product by name. LEVERAGE helps credit unions reduce expenses, streamline operations, increase non-interest income, improve regulatory compliance, and increase loan growth, so the website now reflects how many solutions LEVERAGE has to offer. Business partners are also displayed better on the website with LEVERAGE and business partner specific events highlighted.

“When a credit union searches for a solution they are really looking for something that will work for them now. LEVERAGE has many of those products and they are much easier to find through a user friendly navigation bar at the top of the website,” said La Pine.

Visitors will find the educational calendar, chapter calendar, the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation, and compliance tools much quicker through the 10 navigational buttons at the top of the page. Two new animated videos and two new infographics are also available to show the power of cooperation and what it means to the credit union movement when a credit union does business with LEVERAGE.

The redesigned website was built by gira{ph} creative. The concept for the website design was licensed through the Northwest Credit Union Association.

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates represents 276 credit unions in Alabama and Florida with a combined total of $68 billion in assets and more than 6.8 million members.
