KOHLER, WI (May 15, 2015) — Kohler Credit Union is proud to play a key role in organizing the annual Sheboygan County Memorial Day Parade and Fountain Park Ceremony, which will take place in downtown Sheboygan on Monday, May 25th. They are honored to announce that this year’s event will include an extraordinary ceremony guest speaker; Major David Godwin, who is the highest ranking active duty Marine in the state of Wisconsin. In addition to the parade and ceremony, a brat fry and bake sale will take place to benefit The Wounded Warrior Project, a program that raises awareness and funds for the needs of injured service members.

Major Godwin is commanding officer for the United States Marine Corps 9th Recruiting District’s Milwaukee Office. His prestigious military background includes six tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The brat fry and bake sale fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project is made possible by generous donations from Festival Foods Sheboygan, Lakeside Pepsi, Sargento Cheese, and Johnston’s Bakery. 100-percent of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to The Wounded Warrior Project.

The parade will include approximately 40 units including the local Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, active duty military personnel, multiple local non-profit organizations, as well as school affiliated groups. The parade will begin at 9am on Memorial Day at the intersection of North 7th and Ontario. It will continue to Superior Avenue, west on Superior to North 9th Street, and then south on North 9th to Fountain Park where the annual ceremony will take place directly after the parade.
