MD|DC Credit Union Association honors Educational Systems Federal Credit Union Board Treasurer Neville as Volunteer of the Year

The MD|DC Credit Union Association has presented Educational Systems Federal Credit Union Board Treasurer, John Neville, with the 2021 Volunteer of the Year award.

“John deserves to be recognized with this honor for his many years of exceptional volunteer service,” said Chris Conway, President and CEO, Educational Systems FCU. “I have been fortunate and proud to have worked with John for over two decades. He really exemplifies a high-performing volunteer; he is here for the right reasons, and he always does his homework.”

Neville’s volunteer service began in 1997 as a member of the Supervisory Committee. A decade later he was elected to the Board of Directors and was named Treasurer in 2014. In this role, Neville helped guide Educational Systems FCU in its growth to over $1.2 billion in assets.  As a career educator and administrator, John understands that it is important for volunteers to keep learning so they can guide credit unions in the rapidly changing financial services landscape and help them meet the evolving needs of members.  Neville is also a founding Board member of the Support Education Foundation which provides scholarships, professional development awards, and student programs.

“John is always open to new opportunities for learning and service,” said Alonia Sharps, Board Chair, Educational Systems FCU. “We are grateful to John for his significant contributions to our Credit Union, our Board of Directors, and our members’ financial wellbeing.”

The MD|DC Credit Union Association’s Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a volunteer who has selflessly contributed time, effort, and talent to the growth and development of a credit union.
