MD|DC Credit Union Association names Market USA’s Edwards as the 2021 Emerging Leader Award winner

COLUMBIA, MD (August 27, 2021) — The MD|DC Credit Union Association’s Miriam Rivera Lieb Emerging Leader Award was presented to Gregg Edwards of Market USA Federal Credit Union, following a multi-phase competition.

Edwards is Director of Lending at Laurel, Maryland-based Market USA Federal Credit Union.

The award honors the legacy of Miriam Rivera Lieb, who was a credit union advocate and leader, by recognizing a credit union professional, 40 or under, who demonstrates leadership and shares Lieb’s dedication to the core principles of the movement.

“Congratulations to all three finalists,” said John Bratsakis, President and CEO, MD|DC Credit Union Association. “They provided thought-provoking ideas and unique insight on how credit unions can innovate. Based on their presentations, the future looks bright for credit unions!”

The multi-phase competition culminated in finalists presenting their ideas on how credit unions can position themselves as the top choice for consumers. Edwards focused on creating a culture of opportunity for young talent to grow and become the next generation of leaders to guide credit unions to growth and success.
