Meritrust Credit Union rebrands overnight, introduces new branch prototype

MANHATTAN, KS (May 1, 2015) – Meritrust Credit Union’s quick rebrand results in a modern, brand-infused branch prototype. The new 4,835 SF branch in Manhattan, KS opened in October 2014.

Meritrust Credit Union, previously Boeing Wichita Credit Union, rebranded overnight, literally. The process was coordinated by a small focus group within the organization and was the only group that knew of the rebranding efforts until the launch. This came to fruition in tandem with a popular, locally televised sporting event and Meritrust wisely used this as a clever marketing tool. They bought prime time television ad space during the game to announce/launch the new brand and the next day all signage had been changed over to transform them to Meritrust Credit Union.

With the rebranding efforts, DEI worked with the Meritrust’s core group to create a new branch prototype that is a more modern, technology driven experience. The concept is a welcoming brand-infused environment with an open floor plan, clearstory windows, and a neutral palette with pops of brand colors. The interior includes teller pods, a focal wall for marketing content, modern seating with built-in chargers, and a “graphic” chandelier suspended over the lobby.

Karen Callaway, VP of Risk at Meritrust Credit Union explained, “It was important for Meritrust to move forward with the rebrand and have our branches reflect Meritrust’s new culture for both membership and employees. DEI has been a great partner through the process and I feel they really understood our brand and direction and brought it to life.”
