Michael Doherty named United Federal Credit Union Business Operations Manager
ST. JOSEPH, MI (July 29, 2014) — Michael Doherty has been appointed to the position of Business Operations Manager at United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) in St. Joseph, Mich. In his new role, Doherty will oversee UFCU’s nationally-centralized Business Operations (fulfillment) Center for Business Lending Programs, and is responsible for the quality of the business loan portfolio and efficiencies within the Business Operations Department.
Doherty was previously Vice President of Commercial Lending with Northwestern Bank of Traverse City, Mich., where he counseled lenders on underwriting and documentation issues, and assisted in the development of policies, procedures and practices involving commercial loans. Doherty’s 30 years of financial industry experience includes positions with National City Bank in Traverse City; Shoreline Bank in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Farm Credit Services Southwest Michigan in Schoolcraft.
Doherty holds Bachelor and Master Degrees from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and has completed independent coursework at the Commercial Lending School, the Graduate School of Banking, and the Graduate Commercial Lending School. He and his family will be relocating to the St. Joseph area from Traverse City.
