Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union partners with ADP to promote employee wellness

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI (December 23, 2013) — Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) is pleased to announce its partnership with ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, to provide the ADP Vitality wellness program to employees, which will help MSGCU combat rising healthcare costs and promote wellness.

“We’re taking an interactive and innovative approach to help our employees live healthier lives,” said Peter Gates, President and CEO of Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union.  “Partnering with ADP, in combination with MSGCU’s wellness initiatives, will help us empower our employees to live healthier lives by giving them access to educational tools and resources from any computer or device. Employees will also be able to earn incentives by making healthy decisions.”

This partnership builds upon the efforts of the Credit Union’s Wellness Team, which, in its one-year history, has implemented nutrition and mental wellness challenges, sponsored local 5K events and rewarded employees for their wellness efforts with smoothie bars and chair massages.  Through the implementation of ADP’s Vitality wellness program, MSGCU employees will be able to earn rewards for participating in medical exams, having gym memberships and taking a Vitality assessment.  By pursuing multiple activities, employees can reduce their healthcare benefits premium costs.

The ADP Vitality wellness solution helps midsized employers with between 50 and 1,000 employees proactively manage rising healthcare costs, while reducing healthcare claims and employee absenteeism.   Key features of this incentive-based program include an interactive wellness portal, health risk assessments, biometric screenings, and personalized wellness plans with recommended goals and activities.  The program integrates with social networking sites, mobile applications, and fitness technologies to give employees additional support as they pursue their wellness goals.

“Both employers and employees are feeling the pressure to reduce healthcare expenses,” said Regina Lee, President, Major Account Services and ADP Canada, ADP.  “ADP’s Vitality wellness solution provides the tools and resources necessary not only to lower costs, but also improve employee health and boost morale and productivity.”
