Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union earns two national awards

PEEKSKILL, NY (May 10, 2021) — Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) proudly announces it’s been awarded two separate national distinctions.

First, MHV has been recognized with the Credit Union National Association’s Diamond Award for Financial Education. Called “the most prestigious annual credit union marketing competition,” the Diamond Awards recognize and reward creative excellence and outstanding results.

Throughout 2020, MHV worked to build a financial education resource center that provided not just typical guidance on credit and home-buying but also addressed the pressing needs brought about by the pandemic. The credit union offered webinars on resume building, interviewing, managing unemployment, maintaining healthy eating habits on a budget, and a small business survival series. MHV also wrote an eBook for Managing Money During Times of Uncertainty, dedicated a podcast episode to the same topic, and streamlined its hardship assistance application process.

MHV has also earned the annual America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence award. This honor is reserved for financial institutions who displayed exceptional achievement during America Saves Week activities. MHV is one of only 6 banks and 6 credit unions honored with this distinction.

“The recipients of the Designation of Savings Excellence made extraordinary efforts to encourage and support everyday Americans. Most significantly, by encouraging and motivating individuals to establish automatic savings and set goals around short and long-term savings goals, like saving for emergencies and retirement,” said George Barany, Director of America Saves.
