More than 500 Credit Union Professionals to Gather at Annual Meeting & Convention

DENVER, CO & PHOENIX, AZ (March 24, 2015) — The Mountain West Credit Union Association (MWCUA) will release its annual report to association members and disclose financial reporting for the year ending December 31, 2014 at its annual business meeting March 26. The meeting will be conducted during the MWCUA Annual Meeting & Convention being held March 26-28, 2015 at The Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, AZ.

More than 500 conference attendees representing 53 credit unions from across the Association’s tri-state trade area will participate in the three-day event. Credit unions from Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming make up the regional membership. The Association holds its annual business meeting as part of the convention. Voting members are updated and receive the Association’s Annual Report, released at the meeting.

“The Association was built on the same principles that we, as credit unions, operate,” said Robert D. Ramirez, Chairman of the Association Board of Directors and President and CEO of Vantage West Credit Union in Southern Arizona. “We greatly adhere to the principles of building financial stability, democratic control, and ongoing education, among others. We take these very seriously and it is reflected in our ability to provide a significant value for our member credit unions.”

Attendees of this year’s meeting and convention will benefit from breakout sessions offering the latest industry training including technology, cyber-security, big data, advocacy, and more. They will also see keynote speakers Todd Henry and John Lauck. Henry will present the opening keynote on the topic of “Passion, Collaboration and Impact.” He is the founder and CEO of Accidental Creative, a company that helps creative people and teams generate brilliant ideas. He helps audiences develop practices and systems that lead to everyday brilliance. Lauck, President and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, will deliver the keynote at the annual CU4Kids Breakfast, highlighting the partnership between credit unions and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Under his direction, CMN Hospitals raised record-breaking funds.

“The Annual Meeting & Convention gives member credit union representatives the chance to learn valuable insights relevant to our industry,” said Scott Earl, President and CEO of the Mountain West Credit Union Association. “It is also a time for idea collaboration and celebration of the past year’s successes. We are truly part of a great movement.”
