Mountain West Credit Union Association to release annual report

More than 500 Credit Union Professionals to Gather at Annual Meeting & Convention

DENVER, CO (April 22, 2014) — The Mountain West Credit Union Association (MWCUA) will release its annual report to association members and disclose financial reporting for the year ending December 31, 2013 at its annual business meeting April 26. The meeting will be conducted during the MWCUA Annual Meeting & Convention being held April 23-26, 2014 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO.

This year’s convention is the largest in the history of the MWCUA with more than 500 conference attendees representing 69 credit unions across the Association’s three-state trade area. Credit unions from Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming make up the regional membership. The Association holds its annual business meeting as part of the convention. Voting members are updated and receive the Association’s Annual Report, released at the meeting.

“The Association embodies the same prudent and financially responsible practices that have built the credit union industry into what it is today,” said Robert D. Ramirez, Chairman of the Association Board of Directors and President/CEO of Vantage West Credit Union in Southern Arizona. “We are able to grow while we stay true to guiding principles that we are responsible for ‘other people’s money,’ and we are ‘people helping people.’”

Attendees of this year’s meeting and convention will attend breakout sessions offering the latest industry training. They will also be treated to keynote speakers Dan Clark and Josh Sundquist. Clark, named by Achievers North America and Achievers Europe as one of the Top Ten Speakers in the World, will present “The Art of Significance” detailing how significant leaders relentlessly pursue a daily path of personal refinement and peak performance. Sundquist, a cancer survivor, bestselling author, and Paralympic ski racer, will present “Strong at the Broken Places: Overcoming Adversity in the Digital Age,” designed to change thinking by strengthening sense of humor, sense of hope and sense of possibility.

“The Annual Meeting & Convention is an opportunity for member credit union representatives to receive affordable training and education credit while celebrating the successes of the past year,” said Scott Earl, President and CEO of the Mountain West Credit Union Association. “We’re very excited that this is largest gathering in our organization’s history.”

The convention is sponsored by Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union, CUNA Mutual Group, Strategic Partners (the for-profit subsidiary of the Mountain West Credit Union Association) and SunCorp Corporate Credit Union.
