MSUFCU earns two awards from the Michigan Credit Union League

EAST LANSING, MI (November 15, 2018) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) has been honored with 2018 first place and honorable mention awards from the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL).

The first place award is for the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award which recognizes credit unions demonstrating the practical application of the credit union “people helping people” philosophy for their members, and the honorable mention is for the Dora Maxwell Award, recognizing community service achievements by credit unions. State-level winners will go on to compete nationally for the CUNA 2018 National Awards. These award winners will be announced at the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, March 2019, in Washington, D.C.

MSUFCU received the Louise Herring Award for its account management program established in partnership with Mid-Michigan Guardianship Services, Inc. (MMGS) for individuals in need of guardianship and conservator ship. This program enables members of MMGS with a reliable process for identifying their clients, and allows them to cash checks at MSUFCU with a unique identification card.

MSUFCU’s CU Involved committee was recognized with the Dora Maxwell Award honorable mention. The committee was established to foster a stronger internal commitment to community volunteering by involving employees in the charity partner selection process. This includes selecting community organizations to support each year, setting volunteer goals, and providing various incentives including Volunteer Time Off.

“We are honored to be recognized for our work in the areas of member and community service,” said Deidre Davis, MSUFCU’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We establish programs, such as the MMGS, to assist members, no matter their financial standing, in achieving their goals and dreams. By contributing to a stronger community, our employees are living our core value of giving back. We are proud to contribute to a community where people are excited to live and work.”
