NAFCU statement on passing of former NAFCU Chairman Jim Mills
WASHINGTON, DC (December 15, 2016) — The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) President and CEO Dan Berger issued the following statement on the passing of former NAFCU Chair Jim Mills.
“Jim Mills was an exceptional leader and dedicated credit union advocate. Throughout his term on the board and as chair, he helped us advance credit unions and accomplish the 1998 Credit Union Membership Access Act, landmark legislation that preserved multiple-group charters for federal credit unions,” said Berger. “Jim’s contribution to the industry and this association will be long remembered, and he will be missed. NAFCU is grateful for his service.”
Mills was elected to the NAFCU Board in 1997 as Region IV director, and he served until 2003, the last three years as chair.
