NAFCU’s 2014 CEOs and Senior Executives Conference kicks off

CHARLESTON, SC (April 1, 2014) — Credit union CEOs from across the country are gathering today at Charleston Place in Charleston, S.C., to kick off the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) 2014 CEOs and Senior Executives Conference. Attendees will have numerous networking opportunities and learn innovative ways to increase bottom-line growth at their credit union. The conference runs through Thursday, April 3, and is open to NAFCU members and nonmembers.

“This year’s program, with its sessions and numerous networking opportunities, will provide attendees vital information and fresh perspectives that will help strengthen their institutions’ income,” said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger, also on this year’s speaker list. “With the continuing obstacles credit unions are facing, it is imperative that CEOs and senior executives have the specific competencies this conference offers to help enhance their operational efficiencies.”

NCUA Board Member Rick Metsger, scheduled to speak to conference participants April 3, will provide attendees with a regulator’s perspective on the credit union industry’s latest challenges.

Business gurus Peter Sheahan, Jacob Olcott and Andy Stefanovich will be providing the conference’s keynote presentations. Sheahan is the CEO of ChangeLabs™ and is back by popular demand as a keynoter to present the four layers of human decision making and specific strategies for influencing staffs’ and members’ reaction to change at each level. Olcott is a principal of Good Harbor Security Risk Management LLC and will provide attendees with an overview of the latest cybersecurity legislation. Stefanovich is chief curator and provocateur at Prophet and will present inventive, functional methods to improve management and morale.

Conference attendees will also hear from the following industry leaders:

  • Rich Brock, CEO of Burns-Fazzi Brock;
  • Douglas Duncan, senior vice president and chief economist of Fannie Mae;
  • Sundeep Kapur, digital strategist, author and speaker of Allied Solutions;
  • Mark Meyer, CEO of Filene Research Institute; and
  • Kirk Sherman, partner of Sherman & Patterson Ltd.

The conference will help credit unions learn about leadership tactics for improving credit union operations, provide an overview of the current economic landscape and its impact on credit unions and  present details on emerging business development opportunities.
