Emerging credit union leaders from around the country are gathering today to kick off the popular NAFCU Management and Leadership Institute (MLI). The conference runs through Friday, Oct.21, in historic Annapolis, Maryland.
“Our Management and Leadership Institute continues to be a top program for future credit union leaders and current executives who want to broaden their knowledge on how to run a successful credit union,” said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. “This conference will give students the essential tools they will need as they aspire to lead and manage a successful team.”
Leadership guru John Spence is returning to this year’s MLI by popular demand to present a full-day workshop, “The Leader of the Future.” Each student will receive a free, signed copy of Spence’s book, “Awesomely Simple: Essential Business Strategies for Turning Ideas Into Action.”
Berger will open up today’s conference with welcome remarks to attendees. Also, NAFCU executive vice president and COO Anthony Demangone will discuss the latest updates from NAFCU, including the four-prong approach NAFCU uses to fuel its culture of extreme member service. Other speakers include:
- Devon Lyon, director of education at NAFCU;
- Alicia Hosmer, vice president of marketing at NAFCU;
- Peter Myers, senior vice president of DDJ Myers, Ltd., a NAFCU Services Preferred Partner;
- Stacey Hanke, communications expert and founder of Stacey Hanke, Inc.;
