NASCUS Invites Kevin Chiappetta to Present Emerging Risks to Examiners

MUSKEGO, WI (July 28, 2022) — Kevin Chiappetta, CFA, President of QuantyPhi, recently presented emerging risks during the Texas Examiner School, hosted by NASCUS in Austin, Texas.

State credit union examiners from around the country were invited to this two-day event to help them build skill sets and enhance their knowledge around a core area of topics.

Chiappetta was joined by fellow presenters Thomas Smith, CPA, CFE, CAMS, CRCM, Director – Regulatory Compliance Services Institutions, CLA; Lamont Black, Associate Professor, DePaul University; Michael Edwards, Attorney-at-Law; Sarah Stevenson, Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, NASCUS; Dean Rohne, CPA, CIA, Principal Financial Institutions, CLA; and Sundeep Bablani, CPA, CISA, CITP, IT & Cyber Sunbelt Regional Leader – Financial Institutions, CLA.

In addition to emerging risks, the event covered topics including BSA, cryptocurrency, mergers, fraud, national issues, rising real estate/auto values, information security, and commercial loans.

“This presentation was a little different than our previous conversations with state regulators,” Chiappetta said. “With so many potential areas to discuss, we had a lively review of everything from credit concerns to risk modeling to misunderstanding of probability decision making. This was a great discussion to have at this point of the economic cycle.”
