NCUA Chairman Todd M. Harper delivered remarks at the International Credit Union Regulators’ Network Annual Meeting

ALEXANDRIA, VA (July 18, 2023) — National Credit Union Administration Chairman Todd M. Harper spoke yesterday before the audience of the International Credit Union Regulators’ Network Annual Meeting in Alexandria, Virginia.

In his remarks, Chairman Harper described the challenges facing regulators and the credit unions and cooperatives they oversee. These challenges include the current interest rate environment, credit risk, cybersecurity risk, technology risk, and climate-related financial risk. Chairman Harper stressed the need for continued dialogue, information sharing, and cooperation among the regulators. This, he said, will “build a stronger and more equitable global financial system that promises greater access to safe, fair, and affordable financial products and services under the cooperative model.”

Chairman Harper’s full remarks are available on NCUA.gov.
