NCUMA Fall Conference accepts OM Financial Group as sponsor to the event

Safety-Minded, In-Person Events Are Still Happening!

BOSTON, MA (September 17, 2020) — September 26-30, OM Financial Group has the privilege of serving as the only sponsor of the National Credit Union Management Association’s Fall Conference in wonderfully scenic Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Tammy O’Hara, OM Financial Group executive benefits consultant, will be addressing the basics of Supplemental Executive Retirement Plans. “During this time of uncertainty, credit union boards and executives are concerned about strength of their plans,” O’Hara said. “As not-for-profits, credit unions are limited in what they can provide to recruit and retain top talent.” Specifically, there are only two options: 457(f) Nonqualified Deferred Compensation Plans or Collateral Assignment Split-Dollar Plans. She will touch on their strategic importance as recruitment and retention tools, the pros and cons of each option and more.

SERPs are one of many critical topics to credit union leaders on the event’s agenda, including:

  • The Strategy of Planning
  • The Road Ahead: An Economic Outlook
  • The Credit Union of the Future
  • Maserati Misery (Fraud Involving High-End Cars)
  • Third-Party Vendor Compliance Verification
  • Bank Differently-The Power of Differentiation in Commodity Markets
  • Everyone Hates Annual Evaluations-And for good reason. It’s Time to Develop Talent

NCUMA President & CEO Kathy Budd explained that in addition to its usual stellar lineup of speakers, the organization is taking many extra precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, so attendees’ focus can be on learning and not simply staying healthy. “We very much value the commitment of the attendees of our events to continue their education around credit unions,” Budd said. “Likewise, we’re committed to ensuring a pleasant and safe, in-person experience with added measures like well-spaced, assigned seating for the entire event and wrist bands to indicate each attendees comfort level with social distancing.” O’Hara attended NCUMA’s Amelia Island Conference earlier this year, and said she was very impressed with the extra pains taken to provide a healthy learning environment.
