New Horizons Credit Union presents St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with check from fundraising efforts

MOBILE, AL (January 24, 2018) — Giving back to the community is important for New Horizons Credit Union in Mobile, AL. New Horizons Credit Union’s employees presented a check for over $300.00 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital representing fund raising efforts.

New Horizons Credit Union employees raised funds for St. Jude primarily with special jeans days and lobby collection jars. Internal contests and other activities were conducted to help generate the fund raising spirit throughout the Credit Union.

St. Jude is different from most children’s hospitals. Founder and entertainer Danny Thomas opened the doors to St. Jude in 1962 with the dream that “no child should die in the dawn of life.”  Unlike any other hospital, the majority of our funding comes from individual contributions. And thanks to generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude.

“New Horizons Credit Union staff and members helped make this donation possible and I am so proud to be part of such a giving organization,” said New Horizons Credit Union interim president/CEO, Edith Franklin.

“We are very grateful for the generosity of New Horizons Credit Union’s staff and members,” commented Brian Stewart, Sr. Regional Development Rep. for St. Jude. “This donation is greatly needed and will be greatly appreciated by the families of the children we help on a daily basis.”
