New training series for supervisory committee members announced

TUCSON, AZ (June 22, 2015) — The Supervisory Committee Academy is excited to announce a new webinar series designed exclusively for supervisory committee members with sessions starting in August 2015. The sessions will be held once a month and will focus on training issues specific to the needs of the supervisory committee. The Supervisory Committee Academy is partnering with well-known subject matter experts to provide the highest quality training.

“I’m thrilled to be involved with this series which will provide much-needed curriculum for the supervisory committee audience. There is a significant gap in training offerings for these dedicated volunteers, but their job is critically important for the health of credit unions,” says Tim Harrington, CPA, series speaker/subject matter expert. “Too often these people are the ‘step children’ of the industry when it comes to training, not getting enough quality opportunities. We saw the gap and wanted to provide as much value as possible.”

The first session, Supervisory Committee Basic Duties & Responsibilities, will be released as a free video in early August. Subsequent webinars will be held once a month starting September 15.

The series presenters will be:

·      David Reed, Esq. – attorney and partner with Reed & Jolly.

·      Susan Landauer – partner with Forensic Accounting Services Group, LLC

·      Tim Harrington, CPA – CEO of TEAM Resources.

·      Brett Christensen – owner of CU Lending Advice, LLC.
