Nominate a Stand-‐Out Future Leader for the 2012 CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec Contest in Partnership with DDJ Myers

MADISON, Wis.—The industry’s first competition recognizing the incredible young leaders of the credit union movement is back with some exciting changes, and improved in partnership with DDJ Myers! The search is on for the 2012 CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec. The Credit Union Executives Society’s (CUES®) program for the industry’s emerging leaders is administered by CurrencyTM.

CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec challenge searches for emerging leaders 35 and under from within the credit union industry.

“CUES was founded 50 years ago by future-‐focused credit union executives, so it’s a testament to our founders that CUES continues to look to the future with a new generation of leaders. Members of all ages have told me this contest has inspired them, letting them know that the movement is in good hands,” says Fred Johnson, CUES president & CEO. “We’re eagerly anticipating the talent that comes forward during this year’s challenge.”

Four key changes have been made to the program this year:

  1. The search will open with a nomination phase. Nominations will be accepted online to get the word out to as many young professionals as possible from May 15 – June 15, 2012. Go to www.ntcue.com to nominate a young professional today.
  2. The competition is now open to the world! This year, rather than establishing geographic regions for the initial challenge, the 15 applicants with the most public votes will move on to the top 15 phase.
  3. The challenge retains the public voting of entry videos to narrow the field, but instead of going straight to the finalist phase, a top 15 phase is being introduced. Our judging panel will evaluate and score each member of the top 15. The five highest-‐ranking applicants will be named finalists.
  4. The finalists will have a briefer and less demanding blogging and video schedule. The top 15 will contribute one blog post and the five finalists one additional YouTube video.

To provide additional value to the competition experience, the top 15 will receive executive coaching sessions from DDJ Myers. The five finalists will receive additional coaching, airfare, accommodation and registration to CUES’ CEO/Executive Team NetworkTM, November 4-‐7 in Manalapan, Florida, where they will give their final presentations. The winner will receive further coaching, airfare, accommodation and registration for two CUES’ CEO Institutes, a total prize package valued at $20,000.

2011 CUES Next Top Credit Union Exec Devin Selte said, “The CUES Next Top Credit Union Executive competition was one of the most impactful experiences in my career. While participating, I have found a new passion in developing people. So much so, that I moved to a new position at Servus Credit Union in the human resources department as a corporate trainer in leadership development.”

The Credit Union Executives Society is a Madison, Wisconsin-‐based, independent, not-‐for-‐ profit, international membership association for credit union executives. CUES’ mission is to educate and develop credit union CEOs, directors and future leaders.

Based in Phoenix, Ariz., DDJ Myers offers executive recruitment, strategic organization, and customized leadership programs.
