OCCU receives most spirited award at local fundraiser

EUGENE, OR (April 13, 2022) — OCCU participated in a local dodgeball fundraiser supporting Relief Nursery, a nonprofit organization that helps families in crisis.

OCCU was a sponsor for the inaugural event, “Dodge for a Cause.” The OCCU team of nine played in the competitive division.

“While the OCCU team didn’t win any matches, they did win the hearts of the crowd,” said Daniel Ivy, Relief Nursery volunteer and director of centralized lending at OCCU. “After their games, OCCU volunteered for the event and cheered on other teams.” And, during the ending ceremonies, OCCU was awarded the Most Spirited Team Award.

“I couldn’t be happier to be part of facilitating the partnership between OCCU and Relief Nursery. Being involved with two organizations that have such a high degree of commitment to the community is so humbling,” said Ivy.

The Relief Nursery’s mission is to prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect through early intervention that focuses on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents, and preserving families.
