PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union recognized as Best Credit Union to Work For®
WASHINGTON, DC (September 1, 2021) — PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union (PAHO/WHO FCU) has been named one of the American Banker’s Best Credit Unions to Work For®. American Banker has recognized credit unions that not only demonstrate their commitment to the communities they serve, but also credit unions that excel in providing a quality workplace for employees.
PAHO/WHO FCU’s commitment to support professional development of its employees, its practice of closing quarterly on Wednesday afternoons to allow for fun, team building activities and that the Credit Union provides paid time off for staff to volunteer in the community and offer support to non-profit organizations were a few of the reasons for the recognition.

The award process began with Best Companies Group reviewing employers’ benefits and workplace policies and practices, followed by extensive employee surveys. In addition to work environment, benefits and employee perks, many of this year’s winners have been recognized for how they’ve supported employees throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
