Pen Air FCU Employees Raise Money to Benefit Covenant Hospice

PENSACOLA, FL (August 1, 2013) — On July 29, 2013, members of Pen Air Federal Credit Union’s senior management and marketing staff presented $10,000 to Covenant Hospice Children’s Support Services as part of its “Jeans for Generosity” employee charitable giving program.

Pen Air FCU’s charitable gift will benefit Covenant Hospice Children’s Support Service’s which encompasses Camp Monarch, a series of children’s bereavement camps held throughout the region and the Butterfly Bag Program, designed to provide caregivers support the support they need through a specialized, at-home grief tool-kit to help children to express and cope with their feelings of loss.

“We are so grateful for this generous contribution,” said Covenant Hospice Chief Operating Officer, Susan Lovelady. “There’s no better time to help not-for-profit healthcare organizations, especially Hospice.”

Pen Air FCU employees have the opportunity to participate in “Jeans for Generosity” by allocating a portion of each payroll check to the annual charitable fund. Pen Air FCU matches employee contributions dollar-for dollar, making an even bigger impact on the charities their employee giving program serves.

Employees participating in “Jeans for Generosity”, are granted additional “casual dress days” throughout the year to showcase their support for giving back to these valuable organizations.

“Jeans for Generosity” was formed by Pen Air FCU’s Charitable Events Committee as a way for employees to choose and actively support community-based charities.

The three charities chosen by Pen Air FCU employees for 2013 include: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida, Covenant Hospice and The American Cancer Society – Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
