People’s Trust Foundation donates shoes and check to Constellation Foundation

HOUSTON, TX (December 2, 2014) — The People’s Trust Foundation presented 58 pairs of shoes and a check in the amount of $1,351 to the Constellation Foundation after a recent shoe drive that the People’s Trust Foundation held in conjunction with People’s Trust Federal Credit Union. “When we initially met with the Constellation Foundation, one of the first things that they mentioned that foster care youth need is shoes. It came as a surprise to us but the reality is that children out-grow them so quickly and being in foster care, sometimes a pair of shoes can be one of the only things that a child can really feel is his or her own,” said Angela McCathran, President and CEO of People’s Trust Federal Credit Union. The shoes will be distributed to Houston area foster care youth during the holidays. Evan Berlin, Constellation Foundation Board Chair and Co-Founder said of the donation, “When People’s Trust Foundation told me that they were collecting shoes and money for foster care youth, I was excited but wasn’t expecting this kind of response. It’s going to make such a huge impact on so many kids this year and it couldn’t have come at a better time than the holidays.”
