Premier America Credit Union welcomes two new leaders to executive team
CHATSWORTH, CA (September 8, 2022) — Premier America Credit Union has announced today the expansion of its executive leadership team. Joining the $3.4 billion Chatsworth, Ca. based financial institution are Ie-Chen Cheng, Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, and Shelley Tam, Senior Vice President/Chief Human Resources Officer.
The new leaders will help further Premier America’s mission of making it easier to meet today’s needs and reach tomorrow’s dreams through operational excellence and unleashing the time and talent of their team so the credit union can deliver more value for its member-owners.

Ie-Chen Cheng comes to Premier America with over 25 years of experience in the credit union industry. She has held executive leadership roles with credit unions in the areas of finance and audit, and previously spent 10 years at McGladrey LLP. Ie-Chen received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from UC Berkeley and is active in the credit union movement, donating time to several organizations and charities. She brings deep expertise in the areas of strategic planning, finance, and accounting with a focus on operational efficiency and a collaborative approach to plan for, and embrace, future change.
Shelley Tam is a seasoned human resources executive with over 20 years of experience leading talent strategies within a variety of industries including fintech, financial services, banking, management consulting, non-profits, and utilities. Prior to joining Premier America, Shelley held roles as the senior HR leader, most notably as Chief Human Resources Officer of AmeriHome Mortgage Company. Shelley received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry from the University of Calgary. She will provide vision and leadership around Premier America’s Employer of Choice strategy, building a transformative company culture and driving innovation through the Human Resources and Organizational Development divisions.
