PremierOne Credit Union announces sponsorship in support of San Jose State University

SAN JOSE, CA (November 15, 2019) — PremierOne Credit Union is proud to announce a three-year sponsorship of the Center for Banking & Financial Services (CBFS) in the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University (SJSU).

The credit union will gift $18,000 over the next three years to support CBFS. This support includes membership on the Centers Executive Advisory Board and the establishment of PremierOne Credit Union scholarships.

As a member of the Center’s Executive Advisory Board, PremierOne will participate in class presentations and professional development meetings. Class presentations provide an opportunity for interaction with a broad SJSU student audience and allow faculty members to link theoretical concepts to real-world experience. The CBFS also organizes weekly professional development meetings were SJSU students can interact with professionals from the financial services industry.

“This is a wonderful opportunity that will benefit students and strengthen our relationship with San Jose State University. We’re very excited to sponsor this extraordinary program and support the education of students in the financial services industry,” said PremierOne Credit Union President and CEO Andrea Brewer.

The main goal of the CBFS is to create a link between SJSU students and the banking and financial services sector. CBFS’s mission is to provide an essential complementary component to students’ education in the area of financial intermediation. It also rewards excellence among students and faculty members by providing financial support through scholarships and research grants.
