NEWYORK, NY (January 24, 2018) — Manhattan-based Progressive Credit Union, one of the oldest member-owned financial institutions in New York, has recently hired three professionals to join their executive and management team. The positions hired include Progressive CU’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of Member Experience, a newly created role.
“These roles are critical towards implementing our strategic goals for 2018,” Robert Familant, Progressive Credit Union’s Treasurer/CEO said. “With this new talent, we will be well positioned to further diversify our asset portfolio and continue to grow the institution’s membership.”
The latest additions of the team include:
Mark Entin, Chief Operating Officer: Entin has over forty years experience within the financial services industry, bringing with him to Progressive the professional skills he learned working for the Securities and Exchange Commission, the National Credit Union Administration, running a successful tax practice, and more. Prior to joining Progressive CU, Entin worked with Brooklyn-based Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union, where he shepherded their internal audit and compliance efforts. He will be responsible for the daily operation of the institution as well as closely work with the CEO to ensure continued fiscal responsibility.
Entin has his BS in Accounting from Brooklyn College, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Rocco Sabino, Chief Financial Officer: Sabino is a seasoned executive with deep knowledge of financial analysis and planning. Thanks to his previous roles at some of the largest credit unions in the New York metro area including Bethpage Federal, Suffolk Federal, and more. Sabino has ample experience ensuring member-owned firms are profitable and healthy. Together with the COO and CEO, Sabino will oversee Progressive CU’s financial planning, analysis, and asset growth.
Sabino has his BA in Foreign Language with a minor in Business Management from Stony Brook University, his MBA from Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business, as well as an advanced professional certificate in accounting from NYU’s Stern School of Business. Sabino is also a CPA.
Richard Murdocco, Director of Member Experience: Murdocco is a policy professional with experience that spans both the private and public sectors. Previously, Murdocco worked within the marketing department of Teachers Federal Credit Union, a $5 billion financial institution based on Long Island. At Progressive CU, Murdocco will be responsible for leading the institution’s marketing efforts, member services, and work with the COO and CEO on strategic analysis.
Murdocco has his BA in Political Science from Fordham University, and his MA in Public Policy from Stony Brook University.
