PSCU sponsors 2nd Annual Magic Minute Shopping Thrill

Six winners selected for 60-second no-holds spree in merchandise warehouse.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (November 18, 2014) — For the second consecutive year, PSCU and loyalty program provider, Hinda Incentives, have teamed to sponsor a special sweepstakes event to reward six lucky credit union members with a “grab-all-you-can-in-60-seconds” shopping cart dash. The event is set to take place on December 4, 2014 at Hinda’s rewards redemption merchandise warehouse in Chicago, IL.

The Credit Union Magic Minute was open to all PSCU Member-Owner Credit Unions that were enrolled in the company’s CURewards® loyalty programs. Credit unions incurred no cost to enroll. To enter the sweepstakes, members of enrolled credit unions registered their contact information on PSCU’s CURewards website and used their credit or debit cards in at least three purchases in any of the weeks between August 4 and October 26 to have their names entered into six weekly drawings that took place from August 17 to October 26.

“We’re delighted to sponsor this amazing event for the second year in a row,” said Annie Cox, Director of Credit Union Growth Solutions for PSCU. “The relationships between credit unions and their members are special, and the Magic Minute is a great way to recognize and reward members for their trust and loyalty. This is an experience that all six of our participants and their guests will treasure for a long time.”

The six credit union members selected in the drawings belong to five PSCU Member-Owner Credit Unions: Abbott Laboratories Employees CU, Affinity Plus CU, American Airlines CU, Citadel CU and Ohio University CU. Each of the sweepstakes winners receives an all-expense-paid trip for two to Chicago and the opportunity to pile as much merchandise from the warehouse’s shelves as they can into an oversized shopping cart in just 60 seconds. The average value of the haul collected by last year’s credit union dashers was about $8,000 and included high-end items such as designer handbags, laptops, cameras, appliances and flat screen televisions.

This year’s winners will be greeted upon arrival in Chicago by a personal PSCU escort – one of PSCU’s “crashers,” a team of high-energy PSCU employees that promote the value of credit unions at company-sponsored events and conferences – who will guide them through the whole Magic Minute experience.

“This is a whirlwind for the winning members,” said Cox. “We want to make sure each of our credit unions’ members have the time of their lives. The personal connection with one of our crashers helps make that happen. It’s a big part of the magic of this moment.”

The Magic Minute sweepstakes benefits participating credit unions through increased membership, higher card activation and usage rates and the gathering of cardholder email addresses for use in future targeted marketing campaigns. 160 credit unions registered to participate in the Magic Minute and more than 5,000 members registered to take part in the drawings.
