Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, recently completed renovations at its Indiana, PA call center, located at 2410 Philadelphia Street, expanding workspace capacity to accommodate additional employees. Nearly doubling the site’s existing workforce of 24, the credit union plans to hire up to 20 more employees throughout the remainder of 2019.
“PSECU has seen significant membership growth over the past few years. That growth, coupled with our digital-first model, which encourages members to take advantage of the convenience of online, ATM, and phone offerings rather than face-to-face branch visits, has created a need for more call center staff who can offer high-quality member assistance,” said Tom Ruback, PSECU Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Transaction Services. “As our headquarters in Harrisburg and our site in State College approach capacity, we recognized the opportunity to expand in our Indiana location. We believe this decision will be mutually beneficial to us and the Indiana region – PSECU will have access to a proven talent pool of dedicated workers, while creating new jobs that grow and stimulate the local Indiana economy.”
The renovation project, which modified existing interior space to create new employee workspace, started in late October 2018 and took approximately 5 1/2 months to complete. During construction, operations were maintained at the site. The location’s drive-through ATM for public use was also updated during the renovations, and new roadside signage was installed.
Increasing the employee headcount at its Indiana location also serves as a failover safeguard for PSECU. By maintaining call center staff at three sites across the state – Harrisburg, Indiana, and State College - the credit union can ensure member service capability in the event one of the locations is temporarily impacted by unanticipated circumstances.
“At PSECU, we strive to serve as a trusted financial partner to our more than 450,000 members by providing the best financial products and services possible, and we understand that our success in meeting that goal is largely dependent on the quality and dedication of our approximately 900 employees,” said PSECU Vice President of Human Resources Cathy Tama-Troutman. “We’re excited to have this opportunity to continue growing our workforce and look forward to expanding our employee presence in Indiana.”
