PSECU’s Fill a Glass with Hope contribution to provide up to 80K servings of milk to Pennsylvania families in need

Through its 2020 contribution to Fill a Glass with Hope, PSECU will provide up to 80,000 servings of fresh milk to families in need throughout Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG, PA (January 3, 2020) — Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, is proud to once again sponsor the annual Fill a Glass with Hope® initiative, a collaboration between Feeding Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, the American Dairy Association North East, agriculture partners, and business leaders, that provides eight glasses of fresh milk to families in need for each $1 donation received. By contributing $10,000 to the cause, PSECU will provide up to 80,000 servings of milk to those experiencing hunger in local communities.

“Food insecurity is a major issue throughout Pennsylvania, but thankfully, it’s one that we can bring to an end,” said PSECU President and CEO George Rudolph. “At PSECU, we follow the ‘people helping people’ credit union philosophy, and to us that means going beyond providing the high-quality banking products and services that our members have grown to know and trust. On behalf of our more than 450,000 members across the state and beyond, we’re pleased to come together with partner organizations to fight hunger through the 2020 Fill a Glass with Hope campaign.”

The 2020 Fill a Glass with Hope initiative will launch today, January 3, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. For the duration of the 2020 Farm Show, donations will be accepted at the PA Dairymen’s Association booth in the Giant Expo Hall Food Court. The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, which PSECU also supports financially, is a direct beneficiary of the funds raised through this initiative, deploying the resources throughout its 27-county service area.

“On behalf of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, we are thrilled to have PSECU partner in a program which helps provide fresh milk to children and families throughout the Feeding Pennsylvania food bank network,” said David Smith, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association. “This program helps close the nutritional gap of our food-challenged neighbors! With the help of PSECU members and others, we can make significant progress in providing milk to children and families in need.”

To help members and non-members alike make it to the Pennsylvania Farm Show – and hopefully participate in the Fill a Glass with Hope campaign – PSECU will once again be offering free weekday lunchtime shuttle services to and from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center throughout the Harrisburg area. A complete schedule, including stops serviced, is available at psecu.com/farmshow.

“We invite everyone to take advantage of the free shuttles to the Farm Show, and there’s no need to worry about a ticket either – just meet us at the designated pick-up locations, jump on, and ride,” Rudolph added. “Like PSECU’s anytime, anywhere digital banking services, this shuttle service is all about providing people with convenience. We want to help make life easier, less-stressful, and more fun for PSECU members and non-members alike.”
