Redwood Credit Union’s Donna Zapata honored with Latino Business Leadership Award

RCU’s business development officer recognized by North Bay Business Journal

SANTA ROSA, CA (January 11, 2018) — Donna Zapata, business development officer at Redwood Credit Union (RCU), was recently honored with a Latino Business Leadership Award by the North Bay Business Journal at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa.

Presented to 17 honorees, the North Bay Business Journal’s annual Latino Business Leadership Awards recognize outstanding Latino leaders in the North Bay Area. Donna Zapata was recognized for successfully shaping a career while building an inseparable connection between economic development and community.

“It’s an honor to be recognized among so many wonderful Latino business leaders who have contributed to our community,” said Ms. Zapata.

Zapata, who joined Redwood Credit Union in 2013 to develop partnerships and promote financial literacy in the Hispanic community, is the past executive director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Sonoma County. Her extensive career and community involvement have garnered her several distinctions, including Woman of Color Corporate Level Award, Napa Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year, California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Latina Hall of Fame, an appointment by California State Senator Mike McGuire to serve on the Sonoma County Human Rights Commission, and serving on the Press Democrat Leadership Program.
