RTN GoodWorks Foundation provides financial education for youth

WALTHAM, MA (April 17, 2019) — RTN Federal Credit Union and RTN GoodWorks Foundation recently co-sponsored “Your Money and Your Future” financial education seminars at two community Boys & Girls Clubs. A total of 31 kids, ages 10 to 17, attended the seminars. The first was held on March 28 at the Waltham Boys & Girls Club, and the second was held on April 12 at the Marlborough Boys & Girls Club.

Topics covered included how to manage money you earn, how to plan for future earnings and how to think about future debt. The seminar introduced financial concepts through conversation and interactive activities. The kids enjoyed pizza as part of the evening’s event.

“We are excited to partner with RTN to provide valuable educational opportunities to our young people,” says Jules LeBlanc, Associate Program Director at Waltham Boys & Girls Club. “Our youth are gaining concrete skills and knowledge to take charge of their financial futures, which will enable them to reach their full potential to be successful after graduation. We are extremely grateful for RTN’s support of our community’s youth.”

Founded in 2011, RTN GoodWorks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, public charitable foundation that fosters financial wellness, and promotes financial literacy and community involvement. The Foundation’s activities are focused in communities where RTN Federal Credit Union branches are located, and are funded through its annual Golf Tournament as well as appeals to membership and community partners.
