Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $10,000 to The Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home

SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 20, 2019) — The Security Service Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation is helping to provide safe, sanitary, and physically stable facilities at The Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home (LBMCH).  The foundation recently donated $10,000 to LBMCH to help remodel the restrooms at the recreation center, which is the most-utilized space at the facility.

LBMCH specializes in providing quality programs and services for children and families to achieve healthy life-skills, goals, and objectives. They assist in adoption, foster care, pregnancy counseling, parenting-skills training, and youth recreation programs.

“It’s as if we’ve been trying to lovingly band-aid this section of our facility,” said Renee Tanner, CEO for LBMCH. “Had Security Service not provided this generous donation, we would have had to limit or refrain from people using the play and recreation space.”

The restrooms have not been updated since the 1980s. LBMCH staff have been working diligently to keep everything in order; however, fixtures, toilets, tiles, and more are in need of repair.

“When we heard the LBMCH was potentially going to have to close their recreation area due to non-working restrooms, we were honored to provide a donation so that this home could continue to serve the El Paso community,” said Derrick Aguilar, senior vice president of member service—Mountain Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union.

The Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home was a gift to the children of El Paso from the late Lee and Beulah Moor. Children first came to live in the home in December of 1959. Since then, the lives of thousands of children and their families have been impacted by its services. Today LBMCH is able to assist up to 80 children at a time, from newborn to 18 years of age.

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union’s market areas.
