Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $2,500 to Golfers Fore Others

Helping Boerne homeowners receive essential home repairs

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 1, 2022) — The Security Service Charitable Foundation has donated $2,500 to Golfers Fore Others (GFO) in Boerne, TX. The donation will cover the costs of flooring repair and installment for two mobile homes for families in need.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, a great number of our neighbors have found themselves in a position where they are unable to make the repairs necessary to increase their standard of living,” said Fred Martin, founder of GFO. “Because of donations like this one from the Security Service Charitable Foundation, we are able to assist these homeowners in getting the work done that they need, free of charge, allowing them to remain in their homes.”

One hundred percent of all donations are applied to the cost of materials; GFO has no administrative or operational costs. GFO volunteers donate their time to local individuals and families in need of home repair and renovation services. To date, GFO has served over 1500 members of the community.

“Times have been tough for so many individuals and families the last several months, especially due to COVID-19,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “We are grateful to GFO for extending a helping hand to those who need it the most. It is a privilege to support such a unique organization that seeks out opportunities to serve our neighbors in need.”

Founded more than 20 years ago, Golfer for Others has completed more than 800 projects in the Boerne area. Charity repairs include insulation installment, faucet replacements, window replacements, wheelchair ramp additions, tree trimming, siding repair, bathroom renovations and assistance with appliances.

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union’s market areas.
